Another console game has escaped its jail of only being available on original hardware, and this time it’s one I’ve got a real soft spot for.
WET, the 2009 action game from Artificial Mind & Movement, now has an unofficial native PC port, bringing Rubi Malone’s gun-slinging, sword-swinging escapades to Windows through recompilation.
We only just covered Fable 2 getting the same treatment, so just like a plethora of Nintendo titles, the Xbox 360 recompilation scene is moving crazy right now.
WET gets a native PC port
The project has been created by Mohammed Albarghouthi using ReXGlue, the same general recompilation technology being used to turn Xbox 360 PowerPC code into something modern PCs can run as a native executable rather than relying on traditional emulation.
You’ll still need to supply your own legally dumped Xbox 360 ISO, with the launcher handling extraction before booting the game. No original game files are distributed with the project itself.
For an early release, there are already a bunch of PC-specific extras too.

The port supports 1080p, 1440p, and 4K output, adjustable render scaling, VSync, and frame-pacing options, alongside proper keyboard and mouse controls. WASD naturally handles movement, the mouse controls the camera, left-click fires, and right-click swings Rubi’s sword. Controller support is obviously in there too if you’d rather use the traditional input.
There are even higher graphics presets, with the project’s Quality mode using 2x render scale, FXAA Extreme, 16x filtering and sharpening, while Ultra pushes things further at 1080p.
It’s still early days, so don’t expect everything to be completely polished just yet, but simply having WET running natively on PC is pretty fantastic.
I absolutely loved this game when it first released, and a massive part of that was the soundtrack, which was packed with absolute bangers and fit the whole Tarantino-esque theme perfectly.
WET has always felt seriously underrated to me, so seeing it get a second life like this is great.
Between this and Fable 2, I’m fully revisiting my Xbox 360 days here, and it’s likely they’ll be a bunch more recomps to add to this list in due course.
