When the Commodore Amiga and Atari ST started to take over from the 8-bits, some of their best showpiece games came in the form of dungeon crawlers such as Elvira: Mistress of the Dark and the incredible Dungeon Master and Eye of the Beholder. These games brought us closer to that D&D feel than ever before as we crept around endless corridors, never knowing what was next in line.

Fast Forward to 2025 and the forthcoming Amiga game, The Cthulhu Project, which is being developed in the venerable old Amiga game programming software, AMOS Pro by Captain DarkN3m0 (check out the Patreon here).

The game is currently very much work in progress, but the dev is keeping everybody up to date via posts on their YouTube Channel, and you can see the latest one below.

This latest update shows off the dialog systems and the way the doors, hatches, and traps all work, with future updates set to concentrate on things such as automapping, NPCS, and will also include new music by Simone Bernacchia.

We’d love to see this project get a lot more love on YouTube, so get over there and subscribe and give the encouragement all this hard work deserves and help them get it over the line, so we can give our Amigas a new treat to play.

Don’t forget to check out the Patreon while you are at it too. We will cover The Cthulhu Project as it progresses.
