After drip-feeding us everything from screens and processors to colors over the last few days, Retroid has finally revealed the Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite prices, and you might be pleased with the outcome.
The standard Retroid Pocket Duo will retail for $269, with its sole 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration dropping to a pretty tempting $249 during the pre-order period.
Thatโs pretty much exactly where I was hoping the Duo would end up, so seeing Retroid come in at around the $250 mark is a nice confirmation.
Considering youโre getting those dual 120Hz OLED displays alongside the Qualcomm Q-7790, thereโs certainly a lot of handheld here for the money.
The Pocket Duo Lite looks to be the real bargain
Things get even more appealing, though, when we move down to the Pocket Duo Lite.
The entry-level 4GB + 64GB model retails for $149, but pre-ordering knocks that down to just $135. Step up to 6GB + 128GB, and youโre looking at $169 retail or $155 during pre-orders.
For a dual-screen clamshell, those prices are extremely tempting.

Yes, the Lite drops down to 60Hz LCD displays and uses the less powerful Qualcomm QCS6125, but I honestly think this could be the smarter pick-up for a lot of people.
Its performance sits much more in the budget-handheld territory akin to that of the Mangmi Air X and Anbernic RG Vita, which use a Snapdragon 662 and Unisoc T618 respectively. Those arenโt powerhouse internals, but theyโre more than capable for the kind of retro gaming youโll likely be doing on handhelds of this ilk.
When you take into account the Duo Lite gives you two built-in displays on top of that, $135 starts looking very tasty indeed.
The standard Duo still feels like the one Iโd personally want, especially with those OLED panels and the back triggers, but both pre-order prices look like excellent deals.
At the time of writing, we’re not sure when those pre-orders start, but we’re sure it won’t be long.
