After revealing pretty much everything there is to know about the Retroid Pocket Duo and Duo Lite over the last week, Retroid has finally confirmed exactly when you’ll be able to get your pre-order in.
Thankfully, you can snag one of these handhelds starting today, September 11, with the Lite actually shipping pretty sharpish.
Retroid Pocket Duo pre-orders open September 11
Pre-orders for both the Retroid Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite open September 11 at 9:30 PM EST/6:30 AM PST, which works out to 2:30 AM BST on September 12 for those of you in the UK.
As previously alluded to, the good news is that the Duo Lite is almost ready to go, with Retroid confirming that it is scheduled to begin shipping on September 17, making it less than a week after pre-orders open.
The more powerful Pocket Duo does need a little longer in the oven, however, with shipments currently expected to begin in mid-October. Still, not exactly long to wait, potentially making it a perfect Christmas present for other retro lovers in your family, if you’re the organized type.

Duo is scheduled to begin shipping mid-October
As we covered previously, the pre-order pricing is pretty tempting too, no matter which handheld you’re after.
The 4GB + 64GB Duo Lite drops from $149 to $135, while the 6GB + 128GB model falls from $169 to $155.
Meanwhile, the 8GB + 128GB Pocket Duo will cost $249 during pre-orders, before eventually moving up to its regular $269 price.
I still think that the $135 Duo Lite could end up being the real star of the show here, especially if your main goal is DS and 3DS emulation. But what we will say is that $249 for the full Duo with its dual AMOLED displays and more powerful Q-7790 isn’t bad at all either.
