Pokemon Pinball is one of those spin-offs Iโve always been surprised Nintendo and The Pokemon Company havenโt revisited because I absolutely love both the original and Ruby & Sapphire variants.
Thankfully, the ROM hacking community is once again stepping in to give me what I want, with Pokemon Pinball World Field now confirmed to launch its first public beta on October 3.
The Pokemon Pinball World Field beta features Generations 1 to 4
Created by Pistis, otherwise known as xPokeJosex, Pokemon Pinball World Field uses Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire as its foundation but massively expands the number of Pokemon available.
The familiar gameplay, tables, and general visual style of Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire remain, with the expanded roster being supported by a huge number of newly created sprites, Pokedex portraits, cries, and animations.

The October 3 beta will contain every Pokemon from Generations 1 through 4, taking the potential roster all the way up to 493 with Arceus. Better yet, the developer says many Pokemon will come with special conditions required to encounter or catch them, so completing this Pokedex wonโt be a case of just launching balls around the same table.
World Field also separates Pokemon into generation-specific modes, letting you concentrate on a particular era rather than having hundreds of monsters thrown into one enormous encounter pool.
However, if complete chaos sounds appealing, thereโs also a Random Generation mode that mixes Pokemon from the included generations together, keeping you on your toes even more than usual.

As previously mentioned, Octoberโs release is still being labelled a beta, with the developerโs eventual goal being to bring Pokemon from every generation into World Field before the finished version arrives.
No final 1.0 release date has been announced yet, but weโre sure weโll hear more on that in due course.
I, for one, canโt wait to dive into the beta, and Iโm sure Iโll be sinking some serious hours in because these Pinball spin-offs are as addictive as their physical counterparts for me.
