The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is going to be one of the most popular Switch 2 games this year, and potentially quite the collectorโs piece, especially with the first batch of physical copies coming bundled with fancy textured foil cover art.
If youโre over in Canada, though, EB Games has managed to make that package even more tempting. Well, if youโre an old head like me, that is.
Those who pre-order The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2 through EB Games Canada will receive an exclusive holographic slipcover, recreating the look of the gameโs original Nintendo 64 packaging.
I need it.
The Ocarina of Time remake special cover takes you back to 1998
Rather than going down the basic route of throwing the old artwork onto a modern Switch 2 case, the slipcover makes it look like the classic North American N64 release box, complete with its brown and gold coloring, retro Ocarina of Time logo, and old-school Nintendo 64 branding.
Itโs a nice little nod to those 1998 vibes, and a pre-order bonus Iโd prefer much more over some free cosmetics like most games of today opt for.
Whatโs even better is that the slipcover is completely free, although there are a couple of catches.
Youโll need to pre-order the game through a participating EB Games location in Canada, with the offer running until November 4, 2026, or until supplies run out. The promotional small print also suggests that the slipcover will be provided when you actually receive the game on its release date.
The post from EB Games does confirm pre-orders will still include the aforementioned textured foil cover art being offered with the first print run of the physical game elsewhere, meaning you Canadian collectors essentially get an additional retro-themed cover on top of the already fancy package.
Now I just need someone in Canada to hook me up, pleaseโฆ
