We all love classic video games, or none of us would be here, but for some people like Michael Leroy Luther, these gaming moments can shape our entire life, and in this case, what comes after.
In a small cemetery on the outskirts of Flint, Michigan, a photo has surfaced of a quite unique headstone on a grave.
Shaped out of marble, the headstone takes on the shape of an original Pac-Man cabinet, with the screen etched into the stone above and an image of Michael, his signature and the poem ‘Bridge Builder’ by Will Allen Dromgoole.

As you can see on this truly unique piece of art, there is even the familiar red joystick beneath the playfield.
According to an article on the Michigan Memorial blog, “Luther loved the game so much that friends and family began calling him Pacman. Sadly, the man whose nickname was after the little man who fed on dots and ghosts passed away just before Halloween on October 29, 2007.”
The grave marker was the brainchild of his sister Linda who decided to honour his memory with the headstone and we are pretty sure the former US Air Force Sergeant would have definitely approved.
For once, Reddit was largely a positive place as many other gamers applauded the idea. Sadly Michael’s wife is also buried next to him as she died just a year later.
